Grace

Some might wonder

How I could speak Your name

After all that I have done

It’s not because I’m worthy

But because of Your grace

That I am unconditionally loved

Hebrews 4:15

This High Priest of ours understands our weaknesses, for he faced all of the same testings we do, yet he did not sin.

Poetry

Redeemer

You’ve given me freedom

A space to be me

It’s so what I’ve needed

To not live in guilt, to be free

Within these boundaries

You direct me in grace

Bringing healing and change

With every glimpse of your face

1 Corinthians 13:12

For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.

Poetry

Beautiful You

I’ve been a beggar

A thief, a liar at war

An addict, pathetic

Unable to take any more

I’ve been arrogant

Proud, a heavenly soul

Following the rules

Perfecting my show
I’ve been in love and lust

Unable to focus or see

Distracted by beauty

High, soaring and free
I’ve known poverty, loss

Lived without a home

Caused pain and grief

Been lost and left alone
I’ve had all the answers

Thought the rules didn’t apply

I’ve blamed everyone else

And lived a disguise
I’ve been fragile, insecure

Done things wrong and had regret

I’ve gained confidence

Had successes, a love I won’t forget.
These colors, these chances

These dances full of grace

Designed for each one of us

To help us somehow see His face
Each life custom ordered

With specific trials and tests

Meant to teach us, help us learn

So we can then turn and teach the rest
Don’t hide who you are

Or the trials you’ve been through

It’s made you who you are

Imperfectly beautiful you 💗

Romans 5:3-5

3 Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; 4 perseverance, character; and character, hope. 5 And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.

1 Corinthians 9:22

“To the weak I became weak, to win the weak. I have become all things to all people so that by all possible means I might save some.”

Poetry

Unfaithful

What part of You should I write of today?

The way You raise Your hand to stop me when I’m going the wrong way?

Or the blessings You shower down to remind me You love me and are here to stay.

How about the confidence You bestow when everything else is on shaky ground

Or the Hope you instill when no tangible reason to hope can be found

Yes those are all great. But I think there is  still another favorite I should proclaim.

When I told You I may never be faithful, You gently grabbed my hand and said “I know” and kept loving me anyway.

2 Timothy 2:13

If we are faithless, He remains faithful, for He cannot deny Himself.

Poetry

I am

I am the woman at the well

The sinner thrown to her knees

The woman wiping perfume with her hair

Mary, Martha and the rest of these

I am the thief on the cross

Zaccheus and a Pharisee

Judas, a friend and a traitor

I am the least of these

I am Saul as he was blinded

I am Mary at the open grave

A witness on the road to Damascus

By my faith, I am saved

Luke 7:47-50

47 “I tell you, her sins—and they are many—have been forgiven, so she has shown me much love. But a person who is forgiven little shows only little love.” 48 Then Jesus said to the woman, “Your sins are forgiven.”

49 The men at the table said among themselves, “Who is this man, that he goes around forgiving sins?”

50 And Jesus said to the woman, “Your faith has saved you; go in peace.”
