To Walk With You

Poetry

My hope is in You

No other answers will suffice

Won’t try to make sense of it

Won’t try to see the end

Will just keep walking

And grabbing Your hand

Psalm 91:4

He will cover you with his feathers. He will shelter you with his wings. His faithful promises are your armor and protection.

Provision

Poetry

I asked for Your protection

And You allowed me to see it was already there

I asked for Your provision

And You showed me all the ways you made me prepared

You’ve been working all this time

Thank You for allowing me to see

All the millions of little ways

in which You care for me.

I Lay

Poetry

My weights are heavy

And my words are insufficient

To bring about any change

So in Your arms I lay

Unworthy of this love

You’ve so freely given

I shackle myself to shame

You still hold me and promise

To give me a new name

From trapped to freed

Ashamed to forgiven

Weighted down and burdened

To a child of God

My thoughts alone can’t bring this change

So under Your wings I lay

A Prayer

Poetry

Thank You for seeing me

Knowing me

Loving me

Show me Your heart today

So I can love others the same way.

John 13:34

A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.

Jeremiah 31:3

The LORD appeared to us in the past, saying: “I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with unfailing kindness.

Love Song

Poetry

For all the times You spoke

And I didn’t hear

The times You tried to get my attention

And I came nowhere near

For the times You shouted

Waving Your hands in the air

And in the silence You still whispered

Reminding me You cared

For the times You held me gently

As I wept in Your arms

The times You sent me warnings

To keep me out of harm

The times You’ve made me laugh

With Your wit, humor and charm

Your love, Your strength, Your kindness

Because that’s just Who You are.

Psalm 63:3

Because your love is better than life, my lips will glorify you.

Seeking Peace

Poetry

Romans 12:18

“If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.”

We are only responsible for half of this equation but we are responsible for 100% of our half.

So seek peace

Seek it with all you have

Chase it through every door

Love boldly

Forgive freely

And then keep forgiving more

John 13:35
By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”

1 Corinthians 13:4-7

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Love

Poetry

You are inscribed on my palm

Your name is before me day and night

Your soul calls out and I hear it

Your heart has needs and I want

To move the mountains to meet them

For you are precious in my sight
For who can express the great love of God… unrelenting, unequivocal to anything else.  Grab hold, see it, feel it, hear it, it’s yours.
