There is only One
Only One above man
The rest of us are on level ground
None better than the rest
If we elevate any one too high
It magnifies the lie
That they are better than I
“Why do you call me good?” Jesus answered. “No one is good–except God alone.
To Your side
For in my heart
To go astray
To Your side
To keep me near
And protect me
From my own way
I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do.
May I never be so high That I fail to look up
May I never be so content
That I stop asking You to fill me up
May this world never answer
all of my questions
That I would stop bringing
all of my wondering to You
May my heart always long,
my hands ever reach,
my eyes always search
To experience You
But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.
He greets me with no judgement
But a nudge and a call to what’s right
He watches and waits patiently
As I work through the trials in my life
The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.
I am too imperfect to make judgement calls. I do not have the all seeing, all knowing wisdom that God sees with. My perspective is limited, narrow and self-centered. Therefore I leave the judgement calls to Him.
Be still and know that I am God
I am working all things for your good
I am merciful, gracious and kind
Do not judge others, vengeance is mine
Dear friends, never take revenge. Leave that to the righteous anger of God. For the Scriptures say, “I will take revenge; I will pay them back,” says the LORD.
…I knew that you are a merciful and compassionate God, slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love. You are eager to turn back from destroying people.
