His Love Never Fails

Poetry

Grateful no matter where I go

You’re with me

No matter what stage, what season

You are there

Running into Your arms

I see all You teach me

Through these storms

My stubbornness gets shattered

My treasures all tattered

My humility is deepened

My sins are forgiven

Because …

“Your Love never fails, it never gives up, it never runs out on me.”

(One Thing Remains)

Romans 8:38-39

38 And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons,[b] neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. 39 No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord

Love

Poetry

Give me a rule

And I’ll try not to break it

Expect too much

And you’ll not be pleased

Show me my debt

And I’ll toil to pay it

But convince me of your love

And I shall never leave

Struggle

Poetry

There’s a little extra pain in my tears

A little more sorrow in my heart

The struggle is getting the best of me

Each day I’m not sure how to start

One breath at a time

I slowly move forward and pray

That I’ll see something, hear a word

That sounds different than it did yesterday

Seeking Peace

Poetry

Romans 12:18

“If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.”

We are only responsible for half of this equation but we are responsible for 100% of our half.

So seek peace

Seek it with all you have

Chase it through every door

Love boldly

Forgive freely

And then keep forgiving more

John 13:35
By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”

1 Corinthians 13:4-7

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Are You There

Poetry

Maybe I’ve done life all wrong

Maybe it’s been my fault all along

Maybe I was a person I couldn’t even see

And the fingers I pointed should’ve been pointed at me

God are You there

God do You hear

My cries and my plea

To rest beside thee

Thoughts steal my joy and plummet my soul

To a place where my heart cannot hear Your voice

I search to find stillness amid the chaos

But keep getting lost in the noise

God are You there

God do You hear

My cries and my plea

To rest beside thee

Take me

in Your arms

Where my heart

shall feel no harm

I’d Rather

Poetry

I’d rather have peace

than excitement

Rather be wrong in my faith

than selfish in my doubt

Rather be judged for childlike faith

than for my life when I am faithless

I’d rather believe the Bible

than the guesses in my head

I’d rather seek an invisible God

Than seek fruitless desires instead.

Romans 1:20

For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities–his eternal power and divine nature–have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.

Within the Waiting

Poetry

He stirs everything within me

Answers fade away leaving me with nothing

I look up, You are there, watching and knowing

My old ways aren’t working, my methods useless

So, I let You work.

Working away in this heart and head

To Produce fruit, Spirit-led

My selfish nature will not be fed

I cling to Your spirit for life

To journey with You is not to arrive

But to watch, to trust and

To find peace within the waiting.

Still Waters

Poetry

A gentle breeze

Your whisper in the wind

The stream alongside

Drawing me in

A safe haven of joy

A meadow of peace

Birds chirping above

All struggles have ceased

Psalm 23:2-3

He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake.

Never Alone

Poetry

Your voice

Your touch

Your way

Your strength

Your lead

always

Unwavering

Unchanging

Is your love

Not filtered

Nor hindered

But enough

Thank you for including me

For counting me as your own

For not rejecting me

Or leaving me to do life alone

Deuteronomy 31:6

6 Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave younor forsake you.”

A New Home

Poetry

Then He took my hand

And led me far away

He tended to my wounds

He taught me how to pray

And when an opportunity came to go

I didn’t want to leave

I had fallen in love with this resting place

Where He showed me freedom and peace

So we agreed I could stay!

This was now my new home

Living with Him at my side

With no more need to roam

Psalm 147:3

He heals the brokenhearted and bandages their wounds.

A Time for Everything

Poetry

My load has been lifted, my heart has been healed

I feel so much lighter, I’m done with this hill!!

Time to breathe in deep and enjoy some sunshine

Time to relax and look around and relish this time

Ecclesiastes 3: 1-8

There is a time for everything,

and a season for every activity under the heavens:

a time to be born and a time to die,

a time to plant and a time to uproot,

a time to kill and a time to heal,

a time to tear down and a time to build,

a time to weep and a time to laugh,

a time to mourn and a time to dance,

a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,

a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing,

a time to search and a time to give up,

a time to keep and a time to throw away,

a time to tear and a time to mend,

a time to be silent and a time to speak,

a time to love and a time to hate,

a time for war and a time for peace.

To Trust or Not to Trust

Poetry

I’ve been here before

And I know which way to go

So how come everytime I step my foot out

The rest of me doesn’t want to follow

Hindered by self

And the desire to be filled

Doubting Your promises

And fearing Your will

What if it is not what I want

What if it’s full of sacrifice

What if I’m never happy

What if I could create a better life

Do I choose trust

in this uncertainty

Do I trust

You love me abundantly?

Jeremiah 29:11

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
