Sinner’s Prayer

Poetry

I can’t untangle the mess

I created with my bare hands

I come before You shattered

Hoping You will understand

I’m sorry I’ve taken grace

And used it as my shield

To do whatever I want

And consider sin no big deal

I’d like to turn away

From all my selfish ways

I’d like to start anew

And discover new life in You

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9

Unfaithful

Poetry

What part of You should I write of today?

The way You raise Your hand to stop me when I’m going the wrong way?

Or the blessings You shower down to remind me You love me and are here to stay.

How about the confidence You bestow when everything else is on shaky ground

Or the Hope you instill when no tangible reason to hope can be found

Yes those are all great. But I think there is  still another favorite I should proclaim.

When I told You I may never be faithful, You gently grabbed my hand and said “I know” and kept loving me anyway.

2 Timothy 2:13

If we are faithless, He remains faithful, for He cannot deny Himself.
