Desire

Poetry

Attraction is a dime a dozen

It comes and goes like the wind

Conjure it up, fill in the blank

Take the picture and hit send

But ask me about my soul

What fuels my flame to fire

Show me who you are inside

And I’ll show you true desire

Ready

Poetry

I wanted so badly to be wanted and loved

That I readily accepted a lie

And now all this wasted time later

I’m still having to say good bye

I don’t wanna waste my time anymore

Don’t want to live in a fantasy

Don’t want to keep running to you

When I know in the end we’ll both leave

I’m ready to accept something real

Ready for attraction, kindness and decency

No more faking or playing, no hiding

Ready for some new company
