Battles, Laurels Won’t Do

Poetry

This is a spiritual battle

One with which I’ve fought before

But this time I know You better

I recognize this war

The battle between

believing and doubt

Between trusting in You

or trusting myself

I know my laurels won’t stand the test

My best decisions would find defeat

My greatest weapon is my faith in You.

My victory dependent upon my belief.

Refined

Poetry

I could not have made it through without YouI could not have learned what I needed to

You were there and You provided

That trial would be useful, You had already decided

You saw what I couldn’t and saw what needed to be changed

You made it happen so thanks to You

I am no longer the same
Isiah 48:10
See, I have refined you, though not as silver; I have tested you in the furnace of affliction.
